Years ago when I was a wee nipper, my uncle, who I lived with at the time, used to insist that everyone wakes up at 6 am for morning prayers. As someone who loves her sleep that ritual was grossly unacceptable. There were many times when I had to face my uncle's wrath because I couldn't wake up on time. At the time, I didn't appreciate why we had to pray every single day.
I am now very grateful to my uncle for helping me cultivate the habit of prayer. Every day the first thing I do when I wake up is I pray.
Praying reminds me of the truth of reality, as I see it, that Love is all in all. I then immerse myself in that Love and project this love to the universe.
I don't just pray first thing in the morning and hope for the best. I continue praying throughout the day. Why? Because there are thought forms and beliefs trying to distract me from being Love. Praying not only keeps me connected to Love, it enables me to be true to myself.
I practise five kinds of prayer.
Asking for assistance.
Affirming the truth, as I see it, of reality.
Visualisation techniques where I see what I want to experience.
Gratitude.
Being in silence.
Love to all.
