Make someone happy,On the way to the bus stop this morning I bumped into an elderly lady that lives in the neighbourhood. She is a widow who lives alone and has no kids. Even though she's often in pain, I see her out and about first thing running errands for her elderly neighbours. She even gets my mother's newspaper.

I gave her a hug. I asked her how she was feeling after her recent operation and she said a lot better. She said she was due to see her doctor shortly. She apologised for not getting me a belated birthday card as she had promised. I told her not to worry about it and thanked her for her kind thoughts. Before I left she said: "You always cheer me up, you do."
That really made my day.
I also came across the young Polish guy who cleans our neighbourhood. I told him I'd been wondering how he is. We chatted for a few minutes. My friend has such a lovely smile which brightened my day.
I have found that sometimes the quickest antidote to feeling down is to make someone else happy.
